Kathy ran a horse farm in a small town whose cops were crooked, led by Sheriff John Roland a.k.a. "Big" John Roland, and made a deal with the Visitors. Kathy never went along with the plan and fought all the way, along side with her daughter, Jessie. When Mike Donovan and Kyle Bates got caught in a firefight with the cops, Kathy helped out and drove them away. She convinced Donovan to stick around to help rally a resistance in the area. She grew close to Donovan and was able to fight off the local cops and aliens. She became the leader of the local resistance.
