Randy was a police officer, partnered up with Officer Bob Briggs when the Visitors arrived. He watched the roadblocks in and out of Los Angeles, checking for people trying to smuggle scientists through. Randy had definite Resistance sympathies. When a driver was caught and shot, he cautioned Briggs to be careful that the guy was wounded. Briggs laughed it off and said it didn’t matter. Randy didn't like it, but let it go. Randy saw one of the Visitors sqaud vehicle get blown up, he saw Ruby Engels walking by, realising she caused it to explode and said nothing and laughed silently. When Sancho Gomez came by with the Maxwells hidden in his truck, Randy discovered them, but decided ultimately to let it pass, giving Sancho a nod.
