Teflon is the flouropolymer that was used to coat ammunition that the Resistance needed to pierce the armor of the Shock Troopers that the Visitors had in the original series as well as in V: The Final Battle. Ham Tyler introduced the teflon coated ammunition to Mike Donovan and his group of resistance fighters and since then, the ammunition they utilized was always coated in Teflon.
